Stonemason in Trim — heritage repointing, lime mortar restoration and traditional stone walls in one of Ireland's finest medieval towns.
Trim is one of the most historic towns in the country — Trim Castle, the old town walls, the Yellow Steeple and street after street of period limestone buildings. That heritage is exactly the kind of stonework we specialise in.
Much of Trim sits in or near conservation areas, and a lot of the buildings are protected structures, so the work has to be done properly: matched stone, the right lime mortar, and traditional methods that preserve the character of the building rather than papering over it. We repoint and rebuild period walls, restore old entrances and outbuildings, and carry out careful conservation work to the standard these buildings deserve.
Of course Trim isn't only old buildings — we also build new stone boundary walls, pillared entrances and natural-stone cladding for modern homes around the town and out toward Laracor, Kildalkey and Summerhill.

Kimmage Hardware · Google reviewYes. We work to conservation standards using lime mortar and matched stone, which is what's required for protected and period buildings in and around Trim's conservation areas.
Yes, and it's very common. Hard cement traps moisture and damages soft old stone. We rake it out and repoint in breathable lime mortar, which lasts far longer and protects the wall.
We source and select stone to match the existing wall — the type, colour and the way it's laid — so a repair or extension looks like it has always been there.
